Whether
or not you prefer PC or MAC isn't the point, it never was. The fact is
that we live in a world where both platforms exist. You never know when
you'll have to work on one or the other. Don't fear though. While there
is a bit of a learning curve with both operating systems, this is an
easy obstacle to overcome.
While
teaching MAC basics to a student. I simply say, "How would you make a
new folder on a PC?" Most people use a computer (PC and MAC) for two
things. Microsoft Word and the internet. While Microsoft Word has a
noticeably different format on MAC's, it functions exactly as it would
on a PC. As for the internet. Its the internet, nothing changes.
This
‘What Would PC Do’ approach applies to more than just MAC operating
systems. It also works equally well with more professional software such
as Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. Though different versions of the
same software might prove problematic. The general message is that it is
more important to prioritize ‘computer basics’ over any one specific
operating system.
